Dear Parents and Carers
This communication is in response to the latest developments regarding the new strain of the Corona Virus and union guidance. We have not taken this decision easily and as always, your child’s education and safety is our priority.
School will be closed to all pupils on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th January for inset days and to allow staff to prepare for remote learning.
From Wednesday 6th all pupils will be supported to engage with remote learning at home apart from those who we risk assess as vulnerable and those pupils who have parents/carers who are key workers. We will contact parents/carers of pupils over the next two days to let you know whether your child will be able to attend.
I am fully appreciative of the complications this will give our families, please know that Evergreen Primary is doing it’s very best in difficult circumstances.
Your support means such a lot to the school team that are trying their best to navigate this unprecedented situation.
I am hopeful this is just a short-term measure given numbers and rise in infection rates.
The light at the end of the tunnel is the vaccine roll-out across the country. We are on this very difficult journey together and I have no doubt that Evergreen as a school community will do what needs to be done.
