Curriculum Rationale

The pupils who attend Evergreen have a diverse and often complex range of special educational needs and disabilities. Each pupil presents with a unique profile of learning characteristics.

With this in mind we have developed a curriculum model to meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of our pupils. We offer an inclusive, personalised and tailored curriculum for all our pupils. With a curriculum designed to be adaptable for each individual, we enable our pupils to travel along their own learning pathway.

We have a strong focus on experiential learning to develop knowledge & understanding through first-hand practical experiences.
We believe this promotes independent enquiry and unique problem-solving methods.

"States Parties shall respect and ensure the rights set forth in the present Convention to each child within their jurisdiction without discrimination of any kind, irrespective of the child's or his or her parent's or legal guardian's race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national, ethnic or social origin, property, disability, birth or other status."

These "drivers" underpin all aspects of teaching and learning throughout school.

They enable our pupils to become:

successful pupils who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.

confident individuals who can live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.

responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society.
